Marble Maze Redux

The task was to make a computer controlled marble maze. That's it. We filled in the rest. I was quite excited about this project since I had already made a digital marble maze before, so making one in real life was going to be fun. I had a lot of ideas I wanted to implement to get as many bonus points as possible and win the 'coolest maze award'. The main features are listed below.

  1. A real-time based microcontroller mbed lpc 1768

  2. A custom PCB daughter board for mounting all of the internal components

  3. An auto-calibrating accelerometer based controller with LED feedback and selector buttons

  4. An OLED display for selecting the difficulty, keeping track of remaining lives, letting you know that you're the worst and keep losing, and congratulating you for winning on the rare occasion that you do make it to the finish hole

  5. A 3d printed gradient to ensure the ball is returned every time and lands on the sensor to deduct a life

I did all of the design work as well as all of the laser cutting, sanding, regular cutting, drilling, Dremelling, assembly, and most of the soldering.

DEMO VIDEO COMING SOON

This was my groups senior design 1 project! We got a 100 on this one.
