Video Box

The story behind this box actually comes from my sister. She brought home a box from some makeup company what would play an advertisement when it was opened. Obviously I wanted to tear it apart and see what was inside. It was fairly easy to figure out how everything worked once I got everything taken apart. The screen has a hall effect sensor that will only let the screen turn on when it senses a magnetic change and a micro USB port for charging. Upon further inspection I noticed that only the power and ground lines were connected and that the data lines had been removed. After soldering rx and tx back the device identified just like a USB drive where I could drag and drop any video file I wanted onto it. That's when the idea to make a video box that played a video showcase of all of my projects hit me. So I designed this nice wooden box, laser cut it out, stained it, put some nice hinges on it, mounted the screen, speaker, magnet, hall effect sensor, and made a nice spot for the micro USB port. Now I'm working on making a good video to bring to the career fairs. Hope you were lucky enough to see this box in action!

This was a personal project I just had to do when I saw the screen
